WaterBuddy v2.4 Released

January 4, 2012

A new release of WaterBuddy has been posted which addresses a couple of bugs and a tidy up in other areas.  The details are as follows:

[FIXED] Any switch based (sound, badge, notification etc.) settings now work correctly on iOS 5.

[FIXED] Various bug fixes across the app.

[UPDATED] Removed Appirator “Rate This App” code, we don’t like to be bothered either. But we’d still like it if you rated us on the AppStore!

[UPDATED] Removed Appigo Todo link.  Thought long and hard about this one but decided that with the local notifications the app didn’t need another external link.

[UPDATED] Streamlined export. No intermediary screen for email address.

Now that Appirator has been removed, you won’t get bothered to review the app.  That said it would be great if you would directly at the app store.

WaterBuddy v2.4 can be downloaded here.

HouseTax v1.6 and HouseTax UK v1.2 available on App Store – record approval time

June 30, 2011

In what has to be the fastest approval for an update we’ve experienced, we’re pleased to announce that the latest versions of HouseTax and HouseTax UK are available in the app store.  Both these apps were approved in less than 10 hours after submission!

HouseTax (Australia) now includes the new first time buyer discount for users in Victoria.  We’re currently checking all other states and territories to make sure we’re up to date with the duty rates.  Please note, due to the speed of the approval we were caught off guard and so the 20% first time buyer discount will apply from today onwards rather than 1/July! [App store link]

HouseTax UK finally includes the new 5% duty rate for properties over £1,000,000.  Thanks to one of our users for pointing out that we missed the April 2011 start date for that one! [App Store Link]

New website and blog

September 12, 2010

Once again we’ve updated the website and blog and have now moved over to wordpress.com as the primary host.  We’ve been looking at ways of simplifying the domain and website management as it’s not the side of the business that is the most interesting!  By using wordpress.com we no longer have to worry about keeping site up to date with any backend upgrades.

For those interested we’ve also moved our domain management over to hover.com.

iPhone 4

July 29, 2010

Like me, you’re probably looking at your new shiny iPhone 4 and wondering how you’re going to keep your Water Buddy readings.  At the moment, there is no import function in Water Buddy so the only way is to re-enter them.  However, the next release of Water Buddy will allow you to import your readings from the export file which can be generated now.  Here’s what you need to do:

  • Go into the history screen and tap “Export”.
  • Enter your email address and tap “Send” – this will email you a CSV file containing all of your readings.
  • Keep hold of this file, we’ll use it to import in the next release.
  • Now start using Water Buddy on your new phone entering new readings only.

Once the new release is out you’ll be able to import the old readings.

First Time Buyer Rates for HouseTax

July 18, 2010

Well it’s taken long enough, but we’ve finally incorporated first time home buyer rates into the calculations in v1.4 of HouseTax.  Not all states offer concessions on stamp duty, instead offering bonuses and grants.  The rest however offer discounts on stamp duty and we now include them.   The app has been submitted for approval, expect it in a week or so.
